As NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang points out, artificial intelligence alone doesn't grant a lasting competitive edge, as it is destined to become foundational infrastructure much like the Internet. The real advantage lies in how a company integrates AI to amplify its unique features and enhance the user experience. Swarovski Optik's new AX Visio binoculars provided a good example of this approach by seamlessly embedding AI into their core product to revolutionize how users interact with the natural world.
By incorporating AI, the AX Visio enables users to observe, identify, and document bird species within a single device, streamlining the traditional birding experience of juggling between binoculars, field guides, and cameras. While the current recognition accuracy is only 60% to 70%, with future updates expected to improve this, it highlights a critical mindset: enhancing functionality from the target user's perspective, enhancing the user experience to be intuitive rather than merely piling on flashy, so-called cutting-edge technology—much like gobbledygook in copywriting.
