While AI-infused search engines boost the speed of information searches by automatically surfacing AI-generated summaries based on various relevant web pages, they can unintentionally amplify pseudoscientific and biased content with their always-confident narration and relatively deficient filter.

Admittedly, the giant tech and AI companies are figuring out business models to compensate for the energy expenses, which might justify their radical pace to commercialize their products. However, the safety alignment of AI models that Ilya Sutskever stresses should always be the priority throughout development to prevent the spreading of harmful ideologies. Stronger supervising methods should be called into action – ethical content sourcing, reward model optimization, and alert presenting around certain sensitive topics – to ensure the AI tools adhere to moral standards and shared values of human society. Unethical and biased information should be detected and downweighed by AI before displaying it to the audience, rather than “quick” remedial actions in hindsight.
